Meru County has 39 profiled and mapped operational and potential tourist attractions. County tourism is growing with the promotion of the Mt Kenya, Meru National park, Lewa Downs Conservancy and Ngare-Ndare Forest Trust to name a few. These sites have a sustained attraction of adventure tourists and competitive sports such as the Mt Kenya Mountain Marathon, the rhino charge, the 4X4 Challenge and the Safaricom marathon. These sites offer additional activities mountain climbing, canopy walks, camping, trekking, diving at waterfalls, bird watching and safari drives. Other products include the Nyambene Hills and attraction sites like the magnificent Igombe Crater, bird watching and breathtaking sceneries.
